I am an integrative biologist that seeks to understand how plants cope with biotic and abiotic stressors. To this end, my students and I study plants and the myriad of interactions that they engage in with other plants, insects, and microbes.
Our work scales from molecules to ecosystems and leverages chemical, molecular, and field techniques. Plants, in many cases, are the intermediary species that mediate mutualistic and antagonistic interactions with other community members that often result in consequences for ecosystem functioning. By studying these interactions, this research has significant implications for agriculture and conservation. |
